Safety
Yes, boiling water is dangerous.
We do not sell a “risk-free” tap: it delivers water at 98 °C, like a saucepan on the hob. Here is how we make an accident almost impossible.

01
A separate button
Boiling water never comes out of the mixer. It has its own button, clearly marked.
02
Push and turn
Two movements at once to open it: it cannot happen by accident, or with a careless hand.
03
Child lock
The movement takes a strength and coordination that children under 6 or 7 do not have.
04
Insulated spout
The metal stays cool to the touch, even while boiling water is running.
Safer than a kettle?
| Electric kettle | HYDRAL | |
|---|---|---|
| Can be knocked over | Yes, it can be moved | No, fixed and anchored |
| Power cable on the worktop | Yes | No, everything is under the sink |
| Scalding-hot sides | Yes, during and after use | No, insulated spout |
| A child can switch it on | Yes | No, push-and-turn action |
Is there a risk of scalding?
Water at 98 °C scalds, just like water from a saucepan. That is why it has its own button, which you have to push and turn at the same time, with a child lock. It never comes out by accident.
Does the tap get hot?
No, the spout is insulated: you can touch it while boiling water is running.
Is it certified for drinking water?
Yes: CE and ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire, the drinking-water approval required in France). Food-grade materials, lead-free brass.
